In 2010 we have a young aspiring rider who will be competing in the GP125 class.
Hello my name is John Schneider. I am a 18-year-old boy and I race an RS 125 Honda gp bike. I want to talk about what I want to do for hopefully the rest of my life. But I do need some help this letter will tell you about how if you decide to help me out with what ever you possibly can contribute, for example I have Bike Mart in Ringwood giving me discounts on their products, and Sharp Finish is helping me out with cheap paint jobs for my bike. If you would like to, and if you are able to you could do the same or even you could come out one day and watch me ride my motorbike and then you can decide whether you want to help me out.
When I am on my motor bike I feel like there is nothing else going on in the world. I feel as if time has stopped and I have no pressure on me. When I am riding my motorbike I forget about everything else in the world, all I think about is what I am doing I don’t think about the future or the past. In a race all that is going through my head is I can see someone so all I think is johnny catch him and get past him then move on to the next person in front of me. At the last Hartwell race meeting I went to I raced in the pre-modern class which means anyone who rides a bike 10years or older can race in this class, I was racing against bikes that are twice as fast as mine. In the race I started 18th and had a bad start, which put me in 20th, but all I did was think to myself, heres an opening pass him here and then I did. At Broadford there is one corner which everyone over brakes for there I just went harder than I have ever been in my life and I pushed past 6 bikes in one shot by that time I was in 10th. By the end of the first lap, all I was thinking is come on keep going everything is fine you can pass some more here is an opening make a move and I did, at the end of the 2nd lap I was coming in 6th , which is a lot better than I ever thought I could do. Now I thought to myself was come on keep the moving and the momentum so I passed another bike and then another, and then I saw a lot further up was a bike that I knew, normally this bike comes 3rd , so I thought to myself “Jesus if I catch him I would make 3rd” so I put my head down and pushed as hard as I could, by the last lap I was right behind this guy and I knew I could pass him if I went a bit harder in one corner which I hate but I did it and passed him but he was on a 400cc bike which has a lot more power coming out of corners and on the straights so he got passed me just before we went over the line so I came 4th out of 28 people. After that race all I did was the same thing in the 125 race and I ended up coming 2nd over all for 125s and 4th for pre-modern and I came 1st for the novice class which is for anyone racing for a year or less.
This year I will be entering the Australian title races and I will enter in the moto gp support race. I will be going all around Australia and racing in almost every state in Australia. I will also be doing a lot of practicing around Australia, and I believe that by the end of the year I will be hopefully up with the top 10 in Australia and there is a lot of publicity there to and the people who have helped me so far like Bike Mart they have had people come in and tell them about me and how I went on the weekend and then they buy something from there so all Bike Mart have done is helped me that little bit and they have had more people go in there and buy things just because they saw Bike Mart on my bike or I said to them that if they need bike stuff then they should go to Bike Mart and mention me and they will be able to help you out. If I get someone who helps me out with other stuff I will always tell the people I race with about them and then say that if they want something like what I get from that place then they should go there and mention my name and then that place will help them out.
If you do decide to help me out with sponsorship, then I promise I will represent your company or product in a responsible manner. I am always acting 5 years older than I am at a race meet all I do when I am there is get my head down and do what I am there to do.
Thanks a lot for taking your time off to read this and I hope to talk to you or see you soon. You can see my website for pictures of me and my race results.
Regards John Schneider

Hay, i'm John, I am a 18-year-old male and my nickname is "schneider".
I first started on two wheels by riding my BMX and I do enjoy it. I’ve been riding BMX for 3 years now and I have learnt a lot and only broken one bone in a result of this, which was my ankle. I started riding when my younger cousin invited me to go ride down the "bowl" in Lilydale with him and when I got there he showed me what to do to role in and jump out and I just felt like I was in my element, it felt so comfortable. I then continued to ride there and watch the older kids ride and learn from them I never really learnt anything good till my start of my 2nd year when I learnt that all I need to do is relax and commit and I will either hit myself or learn a trick, when I learnt this I went from being one those kids who sits and watches to the kid who is out there trying things that most people wouldn’t try for a million dollars but I do it cause my favourite feeling is when I go to big or do something that makes me nearly shit my pants. I love the adrenaline rush that these things give me!!
I started motor bike racing at the start of 2005 on a pocket bike, ( thanks OZMINMIMOTO, darren). Then in 2007, I had never riden a bike a with a clutch till I jumped on a CB 125 (supalite) and from there I learnt I could get the same rush that I got on my bmx on the motor bikes but I could get it every 1-10 seconds all I needed to do was go faster and faster. My next bike was a 1991 rs 125 Honda and when I started riding this after I had riden the supalite, I fell in love with motor bikes the 125 was twice as fast as the supalite and it had a lot more grip and I could get twice the adrenaline rush at anytime all I needed to do was try and wait till later to brake and wait till later to turn for the corner and next I realized that I was going almost 3 times faster through corners I never even thought about trying to go fast through.
When I started racing I started reading a “twist of the wrist” and I quickly learnt that motor bike had one basic rule ‘when in doubt power out’ at first I thought how could this work but at Broadford I was going through the bottom corner and the front wheel started to slide so I quickly re-acted and powered and the next thing I knew I wasn’t sliding anymore I was going faster through the corner so since then every time I was in doubt I powered out, and when I kept doing this I also started going faster again and started getting a bigger and bigger adrenaline rush.
For my first year of racing I was the youngest kid out there and I was on the slowest bike out there but I still just thought to myself if I go faster than the guy in front of me through the corner I can beat them so I did just that. I came 7th in Hartwell for 2007 in the 125/250-gp class.
I am riding on Dunlop tyres and I feel they are the best tyres for me. I would like to thank ozynob dcs and johnsrefair for helping with my racing if you want to help there is more pictures on my;
I wish to one day become a professional racer so I can do what I love and then if I get the chance I wont stop pushing till I am the world champion.
My Dad also rides on the race track, but finds it hard to keep up with me, even though he rides a honda cbr600rr.
And thanks for all the help from my mum and dad, and my sister Zoe.
SUPPORT TEAM MEMBERS:
